Members of the Craft Committee present Gift to Peter Dawe, Executive Director of the Canadian Cancer Society.
The Daffodil Place campaign received a $5,000 gift from a dedicated group of women who have supported the fight against cancer for over 20 years.
The Canadian Cancer Society Craft Committee was formed to raise money for those touched by cancer. These women make beautiful crafts, baked goods, and decorative items for sale to the public. This year, the group decided to support Daffodil Place, an accommodations facility for cancer patients living outside of St. John’s.
“The entire Craft Committee is thrilled to donate a gift to Daffodil Place,” said Helen Baggs, one of the committee’s founding members. She added, “This project touches every Newfoundlander and Labradorian, and we wanted to help make Daffodil Place a reality in anyway possible.”
